Summer and sun: choosing the best sunscreens
Summer and sun: choosing the best sunscreens
The summer season is in full swing, and the sun's rays are becoming an integral part of our daily lifestyle. However, along with the pleasant moments that the sun gives, there is a need to protect your skin from its harmful effects. This is where sunscreens come to the rescue.
The main types of sunscreens include creams, lotions, sprays and gels. Each of them has its own advantages and features that should be taken into account when choosing.
1. Creams and lotions
These products are traditionally considered the most effective for protection from ultraviolet rays. They have a dense texture that creates a reliable barrier on the skin. Creams are suitable for dry and sensitive skin, whereas lotions are suitable for normal and oily skin. It is also important to take into account that creams come in two types: with physical (mineral) and chemical SPF protection filters. Physical ones create a protective film on the surface of the skin, reflecting UV rays, while chemical ones absorb and neutralize them.
2. Sprays
Sprays are convenient to use, especially for application to hard-to-reach areas of the body. They are quickly absorbed and do not leave greasy traces. However, it is worth remembering that sprays can be sprayed unevenly, so it is important to monitor the thoroughness of their application.
3. Gels
Gels are ideal for people with oily skin, as they have a light texture and are quickly absorbed. In addition, gels often contain additional moisturizing ingredients, which makes them an excellent choice for those who want to keep their skin fresh and hydrated.
When choosing a sunscreen, it is important to consider not only the skin type, but also the SPF level. For urban conditions, SPF 30 is suitable, but for a beach holiday it is better to choose funds with SPF 50 and above.
I would like to add that I take only factor 50 for the summer and only with a mineral filter. Let it create a whitish coating for a while, but it is really effective and protects even from pigmentoperations.
Sunscreens should be applied 15-30 minutes before going out in the sun and renewed every two hours, as well as after bathing or active sweating.
Summer is a great time for relaxation and active outdoor activities, so proper sun protection will help preserve the health and beauty of your skin.
