Karelia: a journey through the ages. Beauty is everywhere. Completing the journey

I have already written about the main attractions of Karelia near Sortavala and Ruskeala. Now I want to share other interesting moments.

There is a large zoo with local animals near our resort complex "Black Stones". Paved paths are convenient for strolling with strollers and for children to run. The entrance for the residents of our hotel was free. The zoo is spacious, the animals are well-groomed. A budget eco-hotel is located next to it.

But the main treasure of Karelia is its nature and forests. There were so many mushrooms that they couldn't fit in the car. Even on clean roadside edges, where walking is a pleasure, you can find more mushrooms than in the wilderness in central Russia. They say that in June there are midges in Karelia, but in August there were none. The weather was warm or cool, and there was such silence and tranquility that can only be found in the mountains.
