Kaliningrad is one of the most European cities in Russia. All thanks to its location: Poland is located on one side of the Kaliningrad region, Lithuania is on the other. Thanks to this location, the Kaliningrad region has adopted a lot from neighboring countries, including architecture.

Arriving in Kaliningrad, the first thing that a group of travel enthusiasts should visit is the Konigsberg Castle. Built in the XIII century, the castle stood until 1968. Meetings of the knights of the Teutonic Order were held here. Alas, the Fortress has not survived to this day. Now there is an observation deck equipped here, where excavations are being carried out, which you can watch. Perhaps the legends of the Amber Room are inherent in this castle.

The Fishing Village quarter has become very popular among tourists. It is considered that if you have not visited this quarter in Kaliningrad, you have not seen the city. The quarter looks like a German, in the style of the city of Konigsberg. The place is a craft and ethnographic center. The quarter is dotted with Gothic turrets, bridges and German-style architecture.

Kaliningrad is a city surrounded by seven gates. However, the Royal ones are considered the most beautiful. The gate, which received and passed the Prussian and European nobility, is a structure in the form of a castle. To date, the Kaliningrad authorities have converted the Royal Gate into a museum of the city, the exposition of which introduces the history of Kaliningrad-Konigsberg.

The Museum of the World Ocean will be an impressive sight. Its expositions will appeal not only to children, but also to adults. The museum has a scientific focus in the field of hydrology. Here you will be greeted by whale skeletons, a collection of marine literature, museum ships and vessels, many of which have a rich history of navigation.
