North Ossetia, like many other republics of the North Caucasus, attracts with its natural beauty – mountains. They then rise along the gorges, sharply rushing upwards, then creep along the roads, as if showing you their complaisant disposition. But mountains are dangerous just as much as they are beautiful. The most famous, but also tragic story happened here on September 20, 2002, when the Kolka glacier suddenly began its descent at the dawn of the day. And if it were not for the universal popularity of the Bodrov Jr. film crew, then perhaps this story would be remembered much less often now.

In fact, the Karmadon Gorge, as a geographical object does not exist, there is the Genaldon Gorge (after the name of the Genaldon River flowing in it), stretching along the village of Karmadon. Hence this popular name appears. Memorial plaques have been installed in several parts of this gorge, not only to the famous film crew, but also to the equestrian theater of the Sled, which took part in the filming.

After passing Karmadon, we continued our way to the "city of the dead" or officially to the Dargava necropolis. This is an ensemble of funerary structures created over the centuries by Alan craftsmen and perfectly preserved to our time. Looking inside these tombs, it is easy to find naked bones, skulls, household items peacefully resting on their beds. The amazing thing is that here we did not feel the classical energy of the churchyard. By the way, in front of these tombs on the banks of the Giseldon River, the film "Live Broadcast" was shot not so long ago.

A group of activists with the support of the government of North Ossetia is trying to make the tourist routes of the republic even more interesting. Every now and then, you meet modern, specially installed art objects. They not only attract tourists as a photo location, but also give a little information about the history, traditions and customs of Ossetia. It is hardly possible to pass by a recognizable element of the Ossetian language - the letter Æ, which is a kind of symbol of Ossetia, or not to take a picture near the national string instrument duadastanon (aka the Alan-Ossetian harp), or just swing on a swing, enjoying the mountain scenery. Ossetia, like all the mountains of the North Caucasus, is beautiful!
Come, you need to see all this beauty with your own eyes!)
