Golden waterfall, ecotropes and rocks – entertainment in Novosibirsk. Part 1.

Golden waterfall, ecotropes and rocks – entertainment in Novosibirsk. Part 1.

Almost like shoemakers who are without boots, we (my husband and son and I), natives of Novosibirsk, have already studied many corners of Russia while traveling, but we have never visited our native region as tourists. This year we have filled the gap. We discovered the Maslyaninsky district of the Novosibirsk region.

Why did the choice fall on him?
Firstly, it attracted us with its wondrous nature, untouched civilization (from the Maslyaninsky hills there are unusually beautiful views of coniferous and mixed forests) for these beauties the area is called "Little Siberian Switzerland".
Secondly, here you can admire the waterfalls, walk along the ecotrope, look at the quiet marble grandeur of an abandoned quarry and climb the rock "Climber".

And thirdly, this area is more than 170 kilometers away from Novosibirsk and by car it can be reached relatively quickly, on average in two hours. By the way, buses also go to those sights from the city, the ride time on them will take about three hours.

We went to the Maslyaninsky district in August 2023 by car, with a tent. We were pleased with the roads, almost without pits, you can move along them at a good speed. We were lucky, in those days, which were laid to admire the beauty of the area, there was excellent weather - there was a pre-autumn 30-degree heat.
Glamping, located near all the sights of the area, was chosen as a place to spend the night in a tent.

The first thing we did was go to the St. John's Wort ecotrope. There and back 4 kilometers through the forest uphill, but the path is wide and well-trodden, it is convenient to walk, considering trees, shrubs and flowers along the way. Even on weekdays there are a lot of tourists here.
By the way, when going to St. John's Wort, even in hot weather, it is better to wear closed shoes and protect your feet with tight trousers in case of an unexpected encounter with a muzzle. This snake of the Gayukov family is non-aggressive, does not attack people. It can bite only if you accidentally step on it.

The final destination of the St. John's Wort ecotrope is an observation deck - it's worth walking several kilometers through the forest to it. It offers a gorgeous view of the rocky mountain, the endless forest and the Berd River. I just want to sit down on some pebble and look, without stopping, at the majestic and unhurriedly flowing river, at the grass and flowers swaying from the light wind and the endless forest, fascinating in dozens of shades of green.

Yes, if your little children are accustomed to walking a lot, you can safely go there with them. Our three-year-old traveler, like us, walked the whole way, did not ask for his hands, did not whine, neither on the way up the mountain, nor back.

That was the end of the first day of the trip. To be continued).
