The old park in Kabardinka. Strength is in culture.

The old park in Kabardinka. Strength is in culture.

There is a small cozy corner in the south of Russia - a village in the Krasnodar Territory called Kabardinka. Its main attraction is the cultural center "Old Park".

Honestly, when I went to this simple southern village to rest for a few days, I did not imagine that such a unique and large-scale space had been erected here. The name of the place even sounded a little sad... "Old Park". But as soon as I got inside, I dissolved into an incredible atmosphere and experienced a genuine cultural ecstasy, from the opportunity to admire the whole world almost simultaneously, walking through the gallery of civilizations. In a corner of Egypt, I saw a world-famous pyramid reproduced in the same proportions as the original, only smaller in size.

A special place is given to European medieval architecture. Everything is in stone here: a watchtower with a spiral staircase, a bridge, and even a pond. Stone structures of incredible beauty are shaded by majestic trees with a green crown.

And here you can visit the House of the Caucasus, the House of Arts, luxurious both outside and inside, the Museum of Paleontology and Mineralogy, go to the theater.

Walking around the park and exploring its sights, we learned that the idea to make an unusual cultural space for residents and guests of Kabardinka came to the head of a local journalist and writer Alexander Alekseev. He studied history, culture, philosophy and art for many years. The priceless baggage of knowledge was transformed into a plan to create a park. And the creator materialized the idea. But he did not just organize the construction – he himself erected architectural copies of many ancient structures here.

And also admired in the park the attitude of its founder to nature – careful. One of the clearest evidence of this is the proximity of a tree and a fence. When they were building a fence around the cultural complex, a tree of a bizarre shape turned out to be on the way. It was not cut down – it was saved, a special hole was made in the fence so that the plant could live on and feel comfortable.

Every year the park space grows and expands. Festivals, cultural events are held here, bright programs are prepared for children for the New Year.
If you are planning a trip to the South of Russia, Kabardinka should definitely add your checklist, this unusual rural corner will definitely surprise you.
