New Year's radiance of Tyumen

The expectation of the new is always inspiring in a special way. I am convinced of this every time I watch how the cities are decorated for the upcoming year. For those who like to contemplate the beauty of large settlements, visiting them dressed in New Year's decorations is a separate type of winter tourism.

Actually, we consider ourselves to be the same contemplatives, so we certainly plan trips to Russian cities during the New Year holidays. At the start of this year, our choice fell on Tyumen.

The train journey from Novosibirsk to Tyumen takes fifteen hours. This means that if you took the train in the evening, you will be there in the morning. This is what we usually do, going with the whole family to nearby cities.

It was frosty in the city during our visit, but this did not prevent us from admiring its festive decorations and New Year's atmosphere.
Have you ever seen a Christmas tree that looks like a cake? I'm not. Until I found myself in the center of Tyumen next to the main beauty. I can't take my eyes off it. If Russia held a contest for the most original main Christmas tree, I bet this cute furry beauty would take first place on it.

A family of glowing polar bears set a special festive and majestic atmosphere in the city center. Mom and three cubs settled in Tyumen in 2019.

And on the eve of the new year 2023, the largest 9-meter father bear complemented the bright family.

Everything and everyone was pleased with the variations on the festive theme here. Even the view from the window of the first cafe, specializing in the sale of cocoa, turned out to be fabulously mysterious, unintentionally beautiful.

Well, when you get tired of just walking around the New Year's city of oil workers, you can, for example, go on an excursion, where they will show and tell you how "black gold" is mined. Or ... go to the thermal springs, improve your health by contrast. Tyumen residents, by the way, like to bask in 39 – 45 degree mineral water just when it's a decent minus – 30-35 outside.
There are just over two weeks left until the new year. The lights of which city beckon us more this year, we are still guessing. If you have never been to winter Tyumen, I sincerely advise you to go there for bright New Year's adventures.
