Orthodox shrines of Russia. The Resurrection Cathedral in Tutaev. Icon of the Savior the Merciful.

During Christmas week, I want to write about some special attraction. Such a place is the Resurrection Cathedral in the city of Tutaev.
The Resurrection Cathedral in Tutaev was formally built in 1678. However, the first temple on this site was built in 1238 in honor of the holy princes Boris and Gleb.
When I came here by chance, now I try to come here at least once a year. It is an incredibly beautiful and powerful place. It gives you peace of mind, confidence and the right frequency. We are all receivers of a huge amount of information, and such places help us choose the right frequency of reception.
The cathedral is located on the banks of the Volga River. A large beautiful staircase with antique lanterns leads to the river. During the day, there is a beautiful view of the Volga and several temples on the opposite side of the river. In the evening, the staircase lighting is added to this beauty.

The cathedral itself is also a work of art. It is richly painted both outside and inside.

There are several miraculous icons in the temple. My beloved is Saved by the All-merciful. This is one of the largest images of Christ in Russia, measuring 3 X 3 meters. According to legend, the image was created by St. Dionysius Glushnitsky in the 15th century.  The icon has performed many miracles. The temple also operated in Soviet times. The icon was not touched, because there was a belief that anyone who dared to do something with the icon would surely die.
When you see this image, it's like you're drowning in it. It is beautiful and majestic. You can just watch and admire this greatness, but if you want to ask the Lord for something, then you can act as follows: formulate a desire, read a prayer located on the icon, venerate it, and then crawl into the hole under the icon. I will say for myself that all my previously made wishes came true, although I also made efforts to fulfill them, of course).

The cathedral has a lower and an upper temple. At the onset of summer, the icon is moved to the upper temple, in winter it is located in the lower one.
The solemn transfer of the image of the All-Merciful Savior is accompanied by processions.  On the tenth Sunday after Easter, the Procession goes along the Borisoglebskaya side. On the last Sunday before the feast of the Prophet Elijah (August 2) – on the Romanov side (Tutaev is located on two sides of the Volga). It often happens that the ferry does not cope with transporting everyone across the river, so the believers get there on their own, by boat. And that's fine.
Each of the processions lasts up to 7 o'clock. Many residents of the city walk the whole way, or join the procession along the road.
