Where to in May?

Where to in May?

The May holidays have arrived. I want to rest, but rest is getting more expensive... In this case, we have prepared several options that will not hit the budget like a trip to the capital, to the south or abroad, but will provide a lot of impressions.

  1. Izborsk and districts

If you live in the Northwest or a little further away, but the ticket price does not bother you, provided that everything else is on a budget, then this option is ideal. The grass is already turning green here, the first flowers are blooming around the ancient fortress. We start May with a trip to Izborsk. On the trip, you can visit the Izborsk Fortress, Museum expositions, the Seto People's Estate Museum in the village of Sigovo and the museum cafe Pancake House. Visiting the exhibitions of the fortress starts from free and on average varies from 100 to 300 rubles per person. Here you can participate in cheese cooking workshops, find out "where the Russian land came from", and see the Slovenian keys.

It is better to settle in Pskov and get to Izborsk by bus. It's cheaper. In addition, you can have time to see Pskov itself or even go to Pechory. The food in the Pskov cafe is good and very inexpensive. Personally verified.

  1. To languid Tomsk

If you live in Siberia, then it is convenient to get here by car or bus from the nearest cities of Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Leninsk-Kuznetsky. The nearest interesting and inexpensive option will be Tomsk.

Here, in one day, you can get acquainted with the unique wooden architecture, terem houses, Slavic mythology, fairy tales or the bronze cult metal plastics of the Kulai culture of the V–II centuries BC. Excurthese start from 150 rubles. By the way, you can also eat interesting Siberian dishes inexpensively. And the prices for accommodation are affordable. They start at 1800 and average 2500-3500 per day, which will save your wallet from unnecessary expenses for the May holidays. I advise you to start from the Voskresenskaya Mountain. From there we went down and just walked along the streets and admired everything around.

  1. We are going to Nizhny Novgorod

One of the most beautiful and ancient Kremlins can be admired in Nizhny Novgorod. A trip here will not be burdensome for residents of Central Russia: you can get there inexpensively by train. Here it is worth taking a walk along the longest military passage among Russian fortresses with a length of 2 km 113 m. The best panorama of the city opens from here from the height of the Kremlin. Exhibitions are open in Dmitrievskaya, Nikolskaya and Ivanovskaya towers. The Tainitskaya and St. George Towers are open as observation decks. Tickets start from 250 rubles. And hostels are pleased with the prices. From 1300 rubles. there are excellent options. And yes, the Bottom One makes the coolest photos. I was tired when I came up here, but the view from above was worth it.

As you can see, it is quite possible to go on vacation somewhere nearby and not go broke. Happy May holidays to all.
