He was not on the lists by Boris Vasiliev - impressions
The novel was written in 1974 and is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War.
I read this novel at school, but it's so poignant that I still remember it. The novel made an even stronger impression on me than, for example, another famous work by Boris Vasiliev - "And the Dawns are Quiet Here", which was filmed under the same name.According to the book "He was not on the lists", the film "I am a Russian soldier" was also released in 1995.
The hero of the novel is a young lieutenant Pluzhnikov, who arrived in Brest the day before the start of the Great Patriotic War, on June 21, 1941. He was not even included in the lists of his military unit when the war began.
Together with the few people left alive, Pluzhnikov defends the Brest fortress. For several months he lives in the basement of the fortress, finds love, finds surviving comrades. Together with his colleagues, he makes bold forays, but, in the end, he remains alone.
Winter is coming, the lieutenant's legs are already frostbitten, he is almost blind, but he does not give up. Only in January 1942, the Germans manage to find Pluzhnikov. Bloodied, exhausted, blind, he comes out of the basement and dies. The enemy officer admires the bravery of the Soviet soldier.
Many years after the war, in the museum complex of the Brest Fortress, you can hear a story about the courage of a Russian warrior who fought alone with the enemy.
We recommend this work to read!
