Volgograd is famous for its unusual architecture and rich historical heritage. A huge number of monuments, parks and a rich architectural component makes the city truly unique. So what should all lovers of leisure and travel see? We offer the following list of places to visit:
- Mamayev Kurgan and the sculpture "Motherland calls!" is a memorial complex that was erected in memory of the heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad. Here is the end point of the route of the "Immortal Regiment" — an endless stream of people come to the foot of the monument on Victory Day to pay tribute to the fallen heroes.
- The Battle of Stalingrad Panorama Museum, which first opened its doors in 1985 and consists of two levels. The first one keeps the exposition itself and protects the funds. The second is a panoramic canvas "The defeat of the Nazi troops at Stalingrad". Some of the exhibits are placed in the open air: military equipment, several monuments and a tank tower.
- Lotus lake. An incredibly beautiful lake with blooming lotuses.
- Museum of Inventions. A museum that is distinguished by its exclusivity of handmade products. In the museum, everyone will be able to see how inventions work, as well as study their work independently.
- Volgograd Planetarium. It was built in 1954 in honor of Stalin's jubilee. The planetarium is the only space theater in the region and nearby regions. The building is a temple with massive frontal columns and a high dome in the neoclassical style.
It is worth noting that there are a number of natural parks around Volgograd: "Nizhnekhopersky", "Shcherbakovsky", "Donskoy", etc. and each of them is beautiful in its own way.
