Hiking
When I was little, my family had a wonderful tradition: every spring, as soon as the ice broke on the rivers, we went hiking. Having collected some simple food with us, we went to the nearest woods or to the reservoir. By that time, there was almost no snow in the city, but small islands of snowdrifts were still visible in the forest. Having found a suitable place, we enjoyed nature: the singing of birds, the rays of the spring sun, the murmur of streams, delicate primroses and, of course, the spring air filled with the smells of sticky buds and the first timid greenery. These were wonderful hours of peace and unity with nature! We baked potatoes in coals, fried bread and sausages. And this simple food seemed to us a delicious delicacy, because a good appetite wakes up in the fresh air! We always returned happy and pleasantly tired. And every spring my brother and I were looking forward to the ice breaking on the rivers! Years passed, we grew up. Now I have my own family, children. But I still love hiking in the spring when nature wakes up. Unfortunately, it is not always possible to escape from the bustle of the city into the forest, but we will definitely get out to the city park. Do you go hiking? What time of year do you prefer to do it?
